Maturity
January 08, 2016
-Karthik Gurumurthy
Got this as a forward.
What's maturity?
1. Maturity is when you stop trying to change others, but instead focus on changing yourself.
2. Maturity is when you accept people who they are.
3. Maturity is when you understand everyone is right in their own perspective.
4. Maturity is when you learn to "let go".
5. Maturity is when you are able to drop "expectations" from a relationship and give for the sake of giving.
6. Maturity is when you understand whatever you do, you do for your own peace.
7. Maturity is when you stop proving to the world, how intelligent you are.
8. Maturity is when you do not seek approval from others.
9. Maturity is when you stop comparing with others.
10. Maturity is when you are at peace with yourself.
11. Maturity is when you are able to differentiate between "need" and "want" and are able to let go of your wants.
12. Maturity is when you stop attaching "happiness" to material things.

Our perspectives on Education
January 02, 2016
-Karthik Gurumurthy
Lot of parents send their kids to mysterious brick box" schools where children simply disappear for eight hours a day. Shobana and I take an actively engaged approach.
Lot of times we have quietly sit at the back of the room in elementary school not just to monitor but to truly understand:
- What was being taught
- How it was being delivered
- How students were engaging
- The overall learning environment
As a parent and a tutor, it wasn't about the grades students/kids brought home a few times a year, but more concerned actually about what they are learning from day to day. Too many parents stay largely aloof, only engaging when there are discipline problems or during occasional parent-teacher conferences. Our approach suggests that education is not just about absorbing facts but about maintaining intellectual curiosity and appetite for learning intact. We feel education should not just a a series of achievements to be checked off, but as a continuous journey of discovery, curiosity, and growth. We always feel parental engagement can nurture not just academic success, but a lifelong love of learning.
